Technicolor Dreamer is Scott Hardkiss’ debut full-length album. Scott expands beyond his DJ roots to create an album full of tightly crafted songs with vocals, verses, choruses and hooks. The album is an artistic experience with stark photographs of Scott surrounded by mermaids in surrealistic settings. Seeing these images on the large scale of the double gatefold LP packaging will beam rays of sun and make all your dreams come true. No extravagance was spared in the making of the 180 gram vinyl. Sound quality will boom from even the lowliest of soundsystems. The album title and song titles are displayed in shimmery foil while inside of the pockets you will find full color printed cardboard sleeves which display all of the lyrics and credits. And it smells good too.

In it’s compact form, the glossy double gatefold digipak CD will make you remember why people still make CDs. This custom made digipak features not only the sweat and tears of every God Within employee, friend, foe, and family member but also, a 32 page booklet printed on the thickest, softest booklet pages you ever did see. Inside are pictures, lyrics, credits, artwork and life advice.

The EP begins with the funky breakbeat euphoria of the original feat. hands-in-the-air piano, horns by Steve Bernstein (Lounge Lizards) & soaring vocals by NYC soul sensation Bobby Harden, whose falsettos will melt your heart.

Norwegian space-dub-disco adventurer Bjørn Torske sets the controls for the heart of the sun to deliver a true psychedelic classic, taking you on a 12-minute journey from the beaches of Jamaica to sunrise on the beaches of Ibiza via a mind-blowing excursion through the Milky Way.

The journey continues with Chinatown boss Brennan Green’s absolutely infectious nu-disco version, bringing the serious NY bounce & boogie with a classic housey piano lick riding a ridiculously funky bass groove by the legendary Ernie Brooks (Arthur Russell, New York Dolls).

Germany’s jazz-tech master Christian Prommer picks up the pace with a driving, insistent, futuristic techno throb which pumps hard enough for any big room but retains the sweet melodies & beautiful flavor of the original.

Finally, the ladies of Brooklyn synth-pop duo Telepathe take time away from recording the follow-up to their much buzzed about debut Dance Mother (produced by Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio) to transform the song into a joyous & epic wall-of-synths indie-dance floor stormer that takes no prisoners & threatens to burst into flames at any moment.

The EP also includes dubs & instrumental versions of all mixes as well as an acappella to ensure you’ve got everything you need to customize your very own gorgeous end-of-the-night anthem.

Paul Woolford starts things off with a ferocious tech-house take on the track which takes the original Detroit techno sound and fast-forwards to the future. He builds up his trademark powerful drum programming with rolling 909 snares & percussion and then morphs into a relentless angular piano groove that will take big-room clubs by storm. Included is a driving, bass-heavy minimal dub version that also takes no prisoners.

Scott Hardkiss transforms the fun & funky bounce of his original mix into a moody club remix with much more serious intentions. This bubbling electronic voyage envelops all in a haze of deliciously dark beauty featuring gated synths, ever-shifting rhythms, and a very heavy bassline, all culminating in a classic dramatic Hardkiss breakdown. Scott’s dub strips away the vocals and focuses on the immense, trancey groove with additional keyboards provided by producers extraordinaire Eric Stamile & Alex Moulton.

Q-Burns Abstract Message delivers an absolute stunner of a remix which comes off as warm, hypnotic space-disco and packs plenty of tricks up its sleeve, including repeated false endings that‘ll drive the dancefloor insane and a dramatic sci-fi section in the middle that sounds like the mothership has finally landed. As if this epic mix wasn’t enough he also throws in a pumping dub mix which, with its churning bassline & modulating 303 acid synth-lines, wouldn’t sound a bit out of place at any classic acid-house party in Chicago or London circa ’88.

Fort Knox Five take the funky party-jam feel of the original and run with their infectious breakbeat remix. Coming correct with booming 808 beats & bass, 70’s style horn stabs, freestyle synths & early-80’s electro-boogie vocoders, it’s enough to have you break out the cardboard and start practicing your backspin. And the party doesn’t stop there as the boys unleash an accompanying instrumental version for extended popping & locking sessions.
